Maximising earned income with the Revenue Management Application


Tim Baker presents new additions to the functionality of the Revenue Management Application (RMA) and case studies from existing users at the Tessitura Learning and Community Conference in Cardiff.

Released in March 2011, the RMA, developed in partnership by Baker Richards and JCA (the creators of T-Stats), is being utilised by Tessitura users across North America to help them increase ticket income.  Case studies, including the increases in income made by Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles as a result of using the software, will be presented during the conference at the Wales Millennium Centre.

The RMA puts Baker Richards’ pricing analysis techniques, developed over ten years of consulting with hundreds of organisations worldwide, on your desktop.  RMA 2.0 is due for release by the end of 2011, offering significantly enhanced functionality to provide all the information and analysis required for planning and monitoring pricing strategy, including: variable pricing, scaling, discount control and dynamic pricing, as well as new tools to aid the evaluation of strategy and forecasting of sales. Functionality includes:

  • Dynamic Pricing Monitor Spot opportunities for dynamic pricing at a glance and measure the impact on the bottom line.
  • Zone Analysis See the distribution of demand between prices and zones.
  • Price Type Analysis by performance and zone, including the ability to group price types for analysis ‘on the fly’, allowing you to control and adjust discounting strategy.
  • Sales Over Time Measure the sales cycle trajectory and compare to previous performances.
  • Custom Table Reporting All the key metrics to evaluate sales and pricing strategy effectiveness.
  • Plus the Baker Richards Hotseat Index™

Existing RMA users include: Brooklyn Academy of Music, Center Theatre Group, Cincinnati Playhouse, Cincinnati Symphony, National Ballet of Canada, The Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Stratford Shakespeare Festival Yale Repertory Theatre and, in the UK, Newcastle Theatre Royal.

The RMA license includes full training, consulting, support and a recipe book, showing you how to answer your pricing and sales questions using the RMA reports.  The RMA requires that your organisation has T-Stats 2.0 installed and is currently available for Tessitura users only.
